Sun Olive Oil is a product of Tehama
County, an agriculturally rich and diverse region of Northern
California. Tehama County sits at the head of California's
Central Valley and is traversed by the Sacramento
River. This provides it with both high quality soils majestic
valley and mountain views. Predominant among Tehama County's agricultural
products are walnuts, beef, dried plums, timber, dairy products,
almonds, and olives.
Because of its Mediterranean climate,
Tehama County is ideally suited for growing olives. Summer temperatures
usually exceed 100º Fahrenheit while winter temperatures hover around
40-50º. Although uncommon, snow has been known to fall in Tehama
County and snow-covered olive trees, like the one pictured here
are a beautiful sight.
